Both were launched in 1920 and changed hands several times before joining the HAPAG fleet in 1926. "Reliance" was severely damaged by fire in 1938 and scrapped in 1940. "Resolute" was sold to Italy in 1935. Archive contains two manuscript diaries kept by William Lewis as a passenger on round the world cruises in 1924 and 1926.
