Additional Details

One side advertises the start of Negro History Week on 11 February 1945, illustrated with a large portrait of Frederick Douglass and the address of the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History. The other side has a substantial original essay, "What the Negro Celebrates," which we do not find published elsewhere. It concludes with suggestions on "What You May Do to Make this Celebration Count ," and offers Carter G. Woodson as the contact for further information. We trace no other examples on OCLC or elsewhere.
