Additional Details

The Gilman Paper Company acquired their first photograph, in 1975, as part of their art collecting program. The collection initially focused on single photographers, eventually branching out into early French and British photographers, as well as focusing on early American photographers and modern photography. This lavishly produced volume was inspired by 19th-century photographs. Each of the plates is produced with consideration for luminosity, surface, texture, and tone of the original.<
