Both "Ryndam" and "Maasdam" were single-screw vessels built for the trans-Atlantic trade. "Ryndam" began her maiden voyage on 16 July 1951. She became the "Atlas" in 1972, and then sank in the Caribbean in 2003. The "Maasdam" began her maiden voyage on 11 August 1952. She became Gdynia's "Stefan Batory" in 1968 and was scrapped in 2001.
