Album containing 36 delightful film stills entitled "A Trip Through the Paramount Studios," featuring silent film legend Chester Conklin (with his signature Grand "Walrus" Mustache), as he wreaks havoc on various film sets. Silver prints, each measuring 7 1/2x9 1/2 inches (19x13.1 cm.), and one the reverse, mounted singly (on recto only). Oblong 4to, leather with double-punched and tied binding. 1927

Additional Details

The progression of the films stills shows Conklin fleeing his pursuers, disguising himself in drag, only to be cast as leading lady for a song and dance number by a smitten director. As with many slap-stick comedies of this era, the film appears to end in a fracas involving several pies. The album includes cameos appearances by a young Gary Cooper and Frank Morgan (before he was known as Wizard of Oz).
