The lovely ship "Italia" started out in 1928 as the "Kungsholm" of the Swedish American Line. After several name changes she joined Home Lines in 1948 as "Italia." The "Atlantic" was born to the Matson Line as the "Matsonia." She joined the Home Lines fleet in 1949 as the "Atlantic." She was moved to Greek registry in 1955 and renamed "Queen Frederica," initially using a Home Lines flag but then changing to that of the National Hellenic America Line.
