("HOOCH" VERNACULAR)
Binder containing striking pictures of "moonshiners" picked up throughout Georgia (Athens, Atlanta, Cornelia, Gainesville, and Newnan), in which smirking citizens are clearly thumbing their noses at the federal government's laws and regulations prohibiting the production of high-proof distilled spirits. Comprising 13 single prints, 18 diptychs, and 5 with 4 images on a sheet. The photographs depict men holding chalkboards with their name, date of arrest, location and number (handwritten), and others with a letter board board and caption "Alcohol and Tobacco Tax," plus a couple of pictures of alcohol-making equipment; some of the moonshiners with a printed "personal history of the defendant" laid in. Silver prints, 10x8 inches (25.4x20.3 cm.), and smaller. 1960s
