Additional Details

The second of a series of nine collections of Scraps issued over two decades by a graphic satirist known as "the American Cruikshank." The earliest editions are rarely seen, particularly in the original wrappers. Each of the 4 plates contains 9 vignette cartoons. They touch upon politics, theater, art, class tensions, domestic manners, and fads. An abolitionist vignette remains effective. One traced at auction since 1961.
