(INDUSTRY) Album of 65 photographs (11 of which appear to be photographs of renderings) related to rubber machinery of Bertrams Ltd, Edinburgh. The album is divided into 8 sections with ink titles on a linen tab. Each with images of various rubber machinery from plantation and rubber washing machines to a hyrdraulic sheeting press and spreading machines. Each complex piece of machinery has a "code word" which are all indicated on handwritten sheets mounted to the dividers at the beginning of each section. Printing-out paper prints (39) and cyanotypes (26), sizes ranging from 7 1/4x8 3/4 to 9 1/8x11 5/8 inches (18.4x22.2 to 23.2x29.5 cm.), and the reverse, the printing-out paper prints mounted recto to linen and the cyanotypes interspered throughout (not mounted), most with a caption in the image area. Oblong large 4to, cloth covers with gilt lettering and a twin-bolt binding. Circa 1914
