This legendary twin-screw liner began her maiden voyage from Genoa to New York on 14 January 1953. This poster advertises that sailing. Late on the evening of 25 July 1956 she collided with the Swedish-American liner "Stockholm" and sank off Nantucket Island. Her sister ship was "Cristoforo Colombo."
