Group of over 125 pieces related to the ships, mostly vintage and copy photographs used in Braynard's "Rex and Conte di Savoia" which appeared as the second volume in the Classic Ocean Liner series. There are many photos of the ships, but also modern photos of ship ads, etc. Additionally, there are 12 pieces of shipboard ephemera from the "Conte," including daily programs, a passenger list, a souvenir log, and a large linen-backed folding tourist and third class deck plan (August 1938). 1930s
These quadruple-screw running mates had glorious but short careers. Both had their maiden voyages in the second half of 1932. Both were sunk by allied aircraft during World War II.
