Additional Details

Built for the Navigazione Generale Italiana by Societa Anonima Ansaldo. The quadruple-screw ship made her maiden voyage in September 1926. The ship was taken by the Italian government during World War II for military service as the "Aquila." While being converted to an aircraft carrier she was bombed and sank. She was refloated after the war with the hope of returning her to service, but was ultimately broken up.
