Hand-colored albumen prints, measuring approximately 7 1/2x9 1/2 to 8x10 inches (19.1x24.1 to 20.3x25.4 cm.), and the reverse, 16 (all but one of the landscape images) with a caption and inventory number in the negative and a few with just a small inventory number in the negative; most pages with the original tissue guards; just scattered foxing. Oblong folio, striking black lacquer covers with gilt highlights and ivory inlay depicting a storm diety, three figures, and a cart in the midst of a storm, and the back cover with a floral motif; leather backstrip; all edges gilt. 1880s
