Additional Details

one of only 15 copies signed by barnett, and dedicated to a particular person. Because there was a variation of the illustrations in groups of 3, 4, and 5 books, this copy is number three of a group of three books.
Barnett, the New Zealand specialist of bookplates and Japanese Art, wrote the text, designed, and published each of his works, and signed and numbered each copy of his limited editions. Because he was able to import thousands of Japanese prints to create his books, the earlier works were in larger limitations. Unable to replenish his stock during World War II, he was forced to restrict this title and his other work, Glimpses at Ukiyo-ye (1940), to fifteen and eleven copies respectively.
