A small archive of 16 photographs of the iconic model Joe Cali, including work by Champion and several attributed to Plato. Chromogenic and silver (4) prints, the images measuring from 117x79 to 102x152 mm; 4 5/8x3 1/8 to 4x6 inches, half of the sheets slightly larger; 6 of the photographs appear to be by Champion, including 2 with a processing date in the margin on recto, and Cali's name, Test Print, and a number or the notation "sample" in ink, and a fourth with the same information stamped, on verso. Circa 1963; the 4x6 prints printed circa 1985.
George Haimsohn (1925-2003) published physique photography under the name Plato in the 1950s-60s. He also wrote gay male erotic novels and was best known for co-writing the popular musical Dames at Sea (1966).
