Impulse Records, frequently referred to as "the house that Trane built," was formed in 1960 and bought out Coltrane's contract with Atlantic Records the following year. He recorded under the Impulse label for the rest of his career. The company's original logo was in orange and white and appeared within a circle on album covers. Towards the end of the 1960s this logo changed to the horizontal format seen here, combined with the name of its parent company, ABC Records. One of the few, if only, posters issued by Impulse featuring Coltrane during the 1960s. Rare.
