A book of responsa on Jewish law. Of American interest is a question on leaf 46 relating Haym Solomon of Philadelphia, who had been one of the most important financiers of the American Revolution. Solomon had granted a request for alms from a needy man in Amsterdam, but by the time the money arrived overseas the man's fortunes had improved, leading to the question of whether the money ought properly be returned to Solomon.
