Isaac Harby (1788-1828) was the leader of Charleston's Reformed Society of Israelites and an important forerunner of the Reform Judaism movement. This volume of his works includes his 1825 "Discourse before the Reformed Society of Israelites for Promoting True Principles of Judaism," his play Alberti, essays on politics and literature, and an introductory biography of Harby by Abraham Moise.
