Provenance: gift from "Amske" to original owner Harman Van Beil, a Dutch Jewish immigrant to Philadelphia, bookbinder and president of Congregation Rodeph Shalom (inscription on rear pastedown, 16 August 1830 inscription, inked name stamps on title and page 1); Judge Mayer Sulzberger (1843-1923), a noted collector and close colleague of Leeser (1866 inscription and his later bookplate); Gratz College Library (inked stamp on title page, bookplate with "withdrawn" stamp).
