As noted in the title, this map was produced with information derived in the Great Trigonometrical Survey of India, which was one of the most involved and important surveying projects ever conducted. The first edition of the map was compiled from parts of the survey that were conducted just before the Rebellion of 1857 and is surely the most authoritative mapping of the area from that transformative time.
