Additional Details

The Constitution appears in two parts, in the November issue (pages 1009-1011) and December issue (pages 1110-1112), both signed in type by George Washington as president. This was one of the earliest appearances of the full Constitution in Great Britain. The prefatory note explains that this was the subject upon which "the Convention of all the most distinguished men in the States have been deliberating for several months."
