Additional Details

The original rear wrapper to this issue (lacking here) contained an ad for the History of the Expedition. There are 3 extracts within this issue with the following caption titles: Ancdote [sic] of the Sokulk Indians, Descrption [sic] of the Natural Walls and Ravenous Appetite of the Shoshonese. As the magazine was edited by Paul Allen, the publisher of the Philadelphia 1814 edition, this is one of (if not the) earliest extracts to be published. The Literature of the Lewis and Clark Expedition 5a.1 (note).
