Waldo Lincoln (1849-1933) is best remembered as the great Lincoln family scholar and genealogist. His "The History of The Lincoln Family, An Account of The Descendants of Samuel Lincoln of Hingham, Massachusetts, 1637­1928," published in 1923, remains the definitive work to this day.


The album's treasure is a carte-de-visite of Robert Todd Lincoln. The First Son was a Harvard undergraduate in 1862, and is seen with a high hat similar to the one worn by his father. The album includes distant family members, including cousins via the Hingham family line. A list details the recognizable names.
