Additional Details

The cover shows the beardless presidential candidate over the text "President, Abraham Lincoln. Vice-President, Hannibal Hamlin." He is also shown splitting rails in front of a log cabin over the quote "Constitution and the Union--Harmony and Prosperity to all." The enclosed letter is from D.H. Melchado of the Bergen Tunnel Wide Awakes, who thanks Miss Slater for the "tricolor ribbon with the likeness of Lincoln and Hamlin" and sends an unnamed "musical instrument" in return.
