Printed dance program card. 4 pages, 3 3/4 x 2 1/4 inches, including die-cut decorative border, with ribbon through upper corner (apparently as issued); partial separation along perforated fold, and lacking the top border on the rear half of the card, but otherwise only very minor wear. Additional Details

These cards were issued to the guests at Lincoln's inaugural ball. The programme on the second page lists each of the 23 planned dances as performed by L.F. Weber's band, and the third page offers space to write in your partner for each dance. The rear cover panel has Lincoln and Hamlin's names around an illustration of a bald eagle, captioned "The Constitution."
While invitations for this ball appear occasionally on the market (and bring upwards of $8000), only one other copy of this dance card has been noted at auction since 1901. No copies in WorldCat.
