Additional Details

These cards were issued to the guests at Lincoln's inaugural ball. The programme on the second page lists each of the 23 planned dances as performed by L.F. Weber's band, and the third page offers space for the bearer to write in their partner for each dance. The rear cover panel has Lincoln and Hamlin's names around an illustration of a bald eagle, captioned "The Constitution." The original owner, James W. Bingham, was son of Senator Kinsley Bingham of Michigan, and died in the Civil War in 1862. No copies in WorldCat.
