Additional Details

Edited by Mary McLeod Bethune, and Sue Bailey Thurman, the Aframerican Woman's Journal was published quarterly between 1940 and 1946. The Fall issue includes a radio drama, "Frederick Douglass" by Evelyn Dabney, a student of Dunbar High School in Washington D.C. The play dramatizes Douglass's last day with his mother before running away in February of 1817. Characters include Mr. and Mrs. Auld, Douglass's master and mistress. Many other interesting articles.
