first edition. signed by schuyler and inscribed by langston hughes. The former on the half-title and the latter on the front end-paper. Hughes inscribed the book to Dorothy Peterson in July 1954, and Schuyler signed it in August 1954. No doubt a gift that Hughes had signed for the film and television actress.
