Additional Details

A very unusual Western printing of Wheatley's poems, as far as we could determine, the first printing of her poems west of the Rockies. Robinson (page 74) makes note of the fact that Jackson repeated several erroneous facts about Phillis Wheatley published in previous editions of her work: i.e. that she was a member of the "kaffir tribe," that she was "baptized in the Old South Meeting House in 1769," and a couple more. Scarce.
