(LUNAR ORBITER PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE MOON) A group of 26 photographs from the Lunar Orbiter spacecraft depicting in detail the surface of the Moon. Two of the photographs are comprised of three panels, taped together on verso. One of these is signed by Harrison Schmidt (Lunar Astronaut Apollo 17) at a conference. Schmidt was the second to last person to leave the Moon and the only geologist on the Moon. Oversize silver prints, the images measuring approximately 21x16 inches (53.3x40.6 cm.), the sheets 24x18 inches (61x45.7 cm.), and slightly smaller, 12 with a caption including the image specifications and date and the rest with the NASA credit on recto; the three-paneled prints measuring 18 1/2x16 inches (47x40.6 cm.), the sheets approximately 22x19 inches (55.9x48.3 cm.), and slightly smaller overall, one with an Orbiter label and the other with Schmidt's signature in ink. 1967
WITH--Three additional photographs of the Moon's surface taken by the Ranger spacecraft. The reference marks are part of the image for scale as it crashed into the Moon.
