Two hand-made cards for charting lunar and tidal phenomena and moveable festivals, one for the year 1854 and the other for 1858; each card with 5 volvelles, each painstakingly constructed, lettered and painted, on cards measuring 290x230 mm; 4 of the volvelles inoperative and lacking pieces, one present only partially, but the lunar and tidal volvelles are present and initially the most complicated in construction, some soiling and darkening.
