Text in Latin and French. 122 woodcut plates and initials by Maillol. 4 volumes in 3 portfolios. 321x245 mm; 12 5/8x9 5/8 inches, sheets. 2 text volumes, 4to, loose as issued in lettered wrappers; glassine dust jackets; 2 volumes containing two extra suites of plates, one in black, another in sanguine (also containing an extra suite of 10 images on Chine, slightly foxed), front covers and each plate bearing artists's ink stamp and numbered in pencil. The text volumes and the two suites together in publisher's 1/4 vellum chemises and board slipcases, chemise on Volume 2 cracked at joint, all slipcases soiled and in need of repair.
