(MANHATTAN BRIDGE--NEW YORK CITY) A group of 10 photographs depicting the view from Brooklyn Tower and construction of the colonnade and tracks, as well as an infamous automobile accident. A series of construction images featuring the tracks and bridge approach. Four of the photographs depict the Ruppert Auto truck incident of 1913, in which a truck hit a bump in the road by Manhattan Bridge and crashed into the construction of the underground subway. Cyanotypes, the images measuring 7 1/2x9 1/2 inches (19.1x24.1 cm.), and the reverse, each with a numeric notation in the negative, six with a caption and date, in ink, four with the Manhattan Bridge Brooklyn Plaza hand stamp, and one with a numbered Supreme Court hand stamp, on recto, two with the caption and date, in ink or pencil, on verso. 1913-22
