Additional Details

The book is signed on the front free endpaper by Margaret Francis and dated 1711, but it is unclear if the text of the book is in her hand. The account book includes extracts of tables from various sources. Of American note are an "Account of the Customs arising by the Trade of each Country trading with London from the 1st of August 1660 to the 1st of August 1661" which includes references to the West Indies, New England and Virginia. Also of interest is "An Account of the Exportation & Importation to and from the English Plantations" in 1660, which lists each item and the amounts, including sugar, tobacco and various skins.
