Additional Details

original manuscript, number one of an edition of only five copies, entirely designed, hand-painted and -lettered by moore. Suzanne Moore is a painter and lettering artist, a resident of Vashon Island, Washington, whose book works explore the boundaries and links between word and image. For over twenty years, her manuscript books have investigated such subjects as the Sequoyah and the Cherokee syllabic writing systems, the spiritual aspects of gardening, and artists' thoughts on creative process.
Moore's books blend distinctive design, colour use & surface treatments with textual content & contemporary lettering to create work that obscures the line between word & image, legibility & abstraction.

Among the private and public collections in the USA and Europe which have acquired Moore's work are the Pierpont Morgan Library, The Library of Congress, The James S. Copley Library, and the rare book collections at Harvard University, Smith College, and Wellesley College.
