Individual coastlines and borders have been delineated in varying colors, possibly signifying something. There is a color key on the right edge of sheet, mostly obscured by the frame. That being said, the coloring appears to be random. This map sits at the end of the manuscript school map tradition and is quite detailed as far as they go.
