Additional Details

A hurricane sank this ship off Cape Hatteras in September, killing hundreds of crew and passengers, and sending ten tons of Californian gold to the bottom of the sea. The gold was recovered in 1987; several books have been written about the case. We are aware of no other copies of this print at auction.
