Additional Details

The sloop Fly of Bristol, RI, owned by Isaac Arnold and captained by Charles S. Rowlings, was heading to Trinidad, Cuba with a full cargo, but suffered heavy damage in a storm. Limping into port at Wilmington, NC, she was found to have no mast or sails, and the deck was split. Whatever could be salvaged from the hold was sold at auction in Wilmington, and this file was submitted to the Warren Insurance Company in support of Arnold's claim. It includes insurance certificates, testimony, inventories, correspondence, and receipts.
