(MARTIN LUTHER KING.) An Appeal to You . . . to March on Washington. Printed handbill, 8¼ x 5½ inches, on newsprint; light mat toning, mount remnants on verso, minor wear including two ½-inch tears in upper margin. New York, 1963

Additional Details

A call to join the March on Washington, in an appeal from Martin Luther King, John Lewis, and 8 other march organizers. It lays out the demands of the marchers and directs them: "You can get information on how to go to Washington by calling civil rights organizations, religious organizations, trade unions, fraternal organizations and youth groups."

This is the fourth variant of this appeal we have handled. Two of them list the same 6 civil rights leaders on top, but are in a larger format; another is in this size, but is on plain white paper and lists ten civil rights leaders on top.
