Additional Details

The official scheduled passenger service to Provincetown (at the tip of Cape Cod) began on 23 July 1873. However, a special excursion train ran out the day before for a celebration: "It is expected that the Governors of Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and other distinguished gentlemen, will be present. A Dinner will be served by the citizens under a Mammoth Tent, on High Pole Hill."

Passenger service to Provincetown continued through 1938. We trace no other examples of this broadside.
