The last public executions in Boston were of convicted pirates Samuel Tully and John Dalton. This broadside records Tully's final speech (read for him by a deputy as his strength failed him), as well as the words of the marshal and impressions of the hanging. Illustrated with a wood engraving of the gallows scene, initialled "ND." This was very likely Boston engraver Nathaniel Dearborn, Boston's second wood engraver, who began work in 1812 shortly after Abel Bowen (Hamilton I:116). Only 2 institutional copies known.
