"Norton & Greenough, at their shop just above the Market, No. 31, Cornhill, Boston, import and have constantly for sale, a general assortment of English and other goods, suitable for all seasons, very cheap for cash. Best Lynn made, Russel, and Lasting shoes warranted good." Norton & Greenough's store appears in the 1796 Boston directory at this address. The merchant David Stoddard Greenough (1752-1826) was also a lawyer in Boston, and had been active in the Sons of Liberty. Not in OCLC, and no other examples traced.
