Spaulding (1775-1821) American physician, served as President of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of the Western District of the State of New York. Besides being influential in publishing the above Pharmacopoeia, he published several papers on yellow fever and was an early suppporter of the use of vaccinations to prevent small pox.
