first edition of a very scarce book, made scarcer yet by the inclusion of a flyer printing some of doctor still's cures. James Still (1821-1902), physician, herbalist, and author studied folk medicine with the Lenape Indians of the Ramapo Valley. He later apprenticed himself to a regular physician and learned enough to function as a doctor himself.
