Additional Details

A Mexican Army printing of President Santa Anna's 9 August decree, written with Winfield Scott's army advancing on the capital: "Que habiendo anunciado el cañón el día de hoy la aproximación del enemigo á esta capital." It authorizes the president to assume direct command of the army as an emergency measure. This army printing was printed a month later, the day after the bloody 8 September Battle of Molina del Rey. 2 copies in OCLC, and none found at auction.
