(MEXICAN COOKERY.) Pair of manuscript cookbooks in the same hand. , manuscript pages including sections of unrelated poetry and prose. Oblong 8vo, 5 x 8 1/4 inches, lacing wrappers except for a partial front wrapper on the longer volume; moderate dampstaining and wear, a few later notations; later inked stamps of F. Bobadilla in each. Np, circa 1840s
The paper in the shorter volume bears an "1833" watermark, but some of the recipes in both volumes seem to be transcribed from printed Mexican cookbooks of the 1840s. For example, the recipe for "guajolote en pipian verde" in the longer volume comes from the 1841 Nueva Cocinera Mexicana (above).
