An order for Indians and "Chinos" (natives of the Philippines) to cease all traditional dances and performances, consultations of fortune-tellers and sorcerers, and otherwise consorting with the Devil. Books written in native languages are prohibited, as are men and women bathing together. Failure to report any forbidden practices is punishable by whipping or incarceration.
The main text begins "A todas, qualesquier personas. . . . su Divina Magestad mandó, que la Idolatria se consumiesse á Sangre y Fuego, diciendo á los Fieles de su Pueblo: destruid los Idolos, hechadlos por Tierra, quemad, consumid, y acabad todos los lugares, donde estubieren . . . ni pidais consejo, á los Magos, Encantadores, Hechizeros, Brujos, Maleficos, ni Adivinos . . . no tengais trato, ni amiftad con ellos, ni los oculteis, sino descubridlos, y acusadlos, aunque sean vuestros Padres, Madres, Hijos, Hermanos, Maridos, ó Mugeres proprias; no oigais, ni creais á los que os quieren engañar, aunque los veais hacer cosas que os parezcan milagros, porque verdaderamente no lo son, sino embustes del Demonio, para apartaros de la Fee."
