Additional Details

Of Texan interest is the 28 July 1836 Puebla printing of Justo Corro's 16 July presidential decree regarding the port of Matamoros which begins "Durante la guerra con los sublevados de Tejas . . ." (cf Streeter Texas 880). It is followed by a 25 October printing of the related 15 October decree which extends to other ports used for the Texan expedition (cf Streeter 881).
Also included is a broadsheet circular by Governor José Antonio Mozo dated 21 September 1836 which begins "Los anarquistas, tan impotentes para sobreponerse al poder nacional que los tiene condenados al desprecio . . . Escarmentados en Etla, ya no osan saltar a la arena para batir frente a frente a la autoridad; pero por una notable inconsecuencia, los mismos que han apoyado y no cesan de apoyar la causa de los advenedizos de Tejas." This has not been traced on OCLC or at auction.
