Additional Details

These manuals vary in content, but most include registers of friars at the various Dominican convents in Mexico, as well as regulations. They were issued every four years, more or less, with some exceptions, and most are between 18 and 50 leaves in length. The volume begins with a manuscript table of contents, followed by a title page and leaf 4 only for the 1612 edition, and then 30 editions dated 1616-1637 and 1675-1773. A few of the early editions appear in Medina's Mexico imprints (317, 375, 434, and 480 for example), but others appear to be unrecorded in Medina or OCLC. We find no record of the 1616, 1632, or October 1637 editions found in this volume, for example.
