Additional Details

Chinantec is an indigenous language still spoken in Oaxaca. This volume contains lessons on basic elements of the Christian faith, such as the Creation and the Passion of Christ, written almost entirely in Chinantec. The only exceptions are the Latin section titles and headings, and many loan words in Spanish, all underlined. The first 2 and final 3 leaves contain part of a Spanish-language census of Tepinapa, listing the names of the adults there, along with their marital status, the names and number of their children, and other details about their lives. Some leaves were also used to practice handwriting.
